Check in the Archives under "crickets" - your fellow Richmondite, Anner
Whitehead, has had simialr experiences and written to the List about them
and the measures she took to address the problem. Don't know how your local
crickets developed a taste for iris rhizomes - around here all they seem to
do is chirp. (-:
