The Berzelia in habit is associated with damper soak areas or streamsides. I
have one growing effectively in my bog garden in a nice association with
Knifofia, Cyperus papyrus, Psoralea pinnata & a few restio species. Also a
Gunnera manicata & ( dirty word for you North Americans ) Lythrum salicara.
A beautiful sculptural subject, which should be more widely known as a
garden ornamental. I don't think the bog situation is obligate, it should
take an ordinary garden situation with good watering. Definitely not a
dryland mediterranean subject though. Quite a tough stem & foliage so I
think should take a few degrees of frost, but have no experience what the
lower limits would be. Good sun.

The Raphiolepis delacourii is a common garden shrub here & as far as growth
requirements go has little to distinguish it from other Raphiolepis species.
The variety available here is used for its rich pink flowers, which make it
most favoured as a garden subject.
