Theres this tree i always see all over my area. Im pretty sure it is not
native because most native trees do not seed that profusely.I know its
related to myrtles, since its seeds are in these woody capsules. The flowers
are five petaled, and similar to leptospermium blossoms but bigger, and the
center is larger. the center is this willow green and is shiny with nectar.
The leaves are wider at the top and are a willow color, but with a slight
prickle at the point. You can see translucent spots all over the leaf if held
up to light. The leaves grow in a whorl around the branch. Sort of like a
spiral and they stick out. The bark is reddish brown, shaggy. If anyone
thinks they might know this tree, let me know. Its perfectly suited to
mediterranean climates as its gone feral.
