One small thing that I would like to add - despite wide claims for its
efficacy in helping with all manner of ills, extracts or rather the
oils from this species, are know to cause hyper- photo-sensitivity to
a fatal extent in sheep which graze upon the plant. Because of this,
Hypericum perforatum, is classified as a noxious weed in many
Australian states. Although nothing harmful has so far, been
demonstrated in humans, it may well be worth bearing this in mind when
using extracts of this plant - either internally or topically.
