Unseasonal Blooms in California

I can generalize that here, in the Valley of the Moon, Sonoma County, every blooming thing is blooming better, and specify Buddleia "Dartmoor," which for the first time in ten years is looking almost as I hoped it would, and by pure chance, no credit to me, is behind an orange canna which is exactly the same shade as the rose "Westerland" nearby.  Smashing.  All credit goes to the delightfully cool weather in July and August, which one hopes will continue, despite tomatoes.
