acquiring podranea

Hearing all you plantsies talk of this podranea made me look it up in Botanica, and the dreadful result is that now I want it!  I have a new arbor to cover and it sounds like I would love it.
Three questions to those in the know:
  1. Are there any drawbacks I should know about besides the obvious frosthardiness issues.
  2. Would it grow satisfactorily in large redwood planters at the corners of this arbor.
  3. Does anyone know where it can be purchased, perhaps by mail, as I have never seen it in a Central Valley garden center.
