This depends on the individual group. Some permit posting of photos to the entire list, but many do not, since it can prove disastrous to those with limited access to the internet for some reasons - or because the particular kind of email client they use cannot handle anything other than text.

The usual practice in most of the groups we belong to is to tell people to make arrangements to post their own picturez on one or other of the several public Web Sites that provide for this (often free, but if so you may bave to put up with some advertising on the site!). When you have placed your pictures on such a site, then you tell all members of the group that you have done so, so that those who wish to can access the web site themselves.

An alternative that one sometimes sees, is for people to say that they have pictures to share, and they ask those who wish to see them to say so, so that they can then email the pictures to those individuals, rather than to the whole list.
