re:pronunciation

     In Romance languages, decended from latin, all the vowels are 
pronounced; so stoechas comes out sounding stow-eh-kas. Even though the 
word looks to be "rooted" in Greek, I believe the traditional 
latinization of plant names would give it these vowel sounds.
