CURATORIAL POSITION OPEN: GRACE KALLAM PERENNIAL GARDEN - Los Angeles Arboretum, Arcadia, California

The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation is seeking an outstanding horticulturalist / gardener who loves working with the public, volunteers and other staff in the Mediterranean climate of Southern California. The Curator of the Grace Kallam Perennial Garden is responsible for effectively managing, maintaining and improving the Kallam garden and other areas to achieve the highest quality for the education and enjoyment of visitors and researchers.
This hands-on position requires a demonstrated experience and knowledge of ornamental / garden horticulture preferably in the Southwest. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outdoor education experienced preferred. Successful experiences with volunteers, as well as computer skills preferably MS word and MS excel. Minimum requirements: A Bachelors degree in Horticulture or related field and 2 years of greenhouse, gardening or nursery experience. Or an Associates degree in Horticulture or related field and 4 years of greenhouse, gardening or nursery experience. Or 7 years or more of professional experience in the field of horticulture, landscape design / installation may be substituted for a degree.
