HelloThere are a lot of Nepetas that might work, and some Salvias from Turkey and Iran as well. Salvia greggii and S. chamaedryoides from Texas and Mexico also come to mind. Salvia roemeriana is called Cedar brake sage and does grow in fairly deep shade in limestone (caliche) soils under cedars in Texas gullys.
I am looking to plant an area of dry shade under two cypress and a cedar, close to some plantings of lavenders with Perovskia, Gaura, etc Am currently thinking around Helleborus corsicus & similar, Geranium sanguineum, Teucrium chamaedrys ... but would be interested in other ideas for this quite difficult situation. Plants need to be under a metre in height and winterhardy to about -10°C All thoughts welcomed!
