Pamela, indeed Garden centers around here don't have alot of variety to offer. Tipuana tipu is a very beautifull tree, that is easily found here but unfortunately with time it gets too big to the place I have in mind. I will consider it to another spot in the garden that also needs a tree and is not as near the house as this one.

Dear AlexandreI thought the lists of suitable trees suggested to you were very interesting but if the Portuguese Garden Centres are the similiar to the ones we have in Spain I was quite pessimistic about what would be available. Albizia and Cercis siliquastrum are really the only ones available here. I thought your Tipuana tipu ( beautiful as it is) was a long shot on the Iberian peninsula!!. Anyway I am glad you have something you like!Best wishesPamelaCosta Blanca Marina Alta- España

Thank you everyone for all your advices on choosing the right tree for my garden. Having visited the garden centers nearby I ended up buying an Albizia (from all the trees I liked this was the only one I found). I think this will be a great tree for the place I have reserved for her, creating a good shadow on the siting area bellow.AlexandreAlgarve-Portugal
