Please accept my apologies for all spelling errors and phrases appearing
below your thanks. I often answer questions but rarely send them, as I
am quite shy about sending my thoughts out into the universe for all to
see. Imagine my horror when my answer turned up on the list this
morning.
Now that I got my feet wet, I'll at least finish the rest of my thoughts
on this lovely plant.
Eric mentioned that D.imperialis is photo-periodic. Maybe because you
are so far north and your climate is warm, D. imperialis will bloom
earlier for you.
After one particularly warm wet winter, our little glan y mor nearly
washed down the creek to the sea. We were forced to move so when I went
back to dig plants out that spring, the Dahlia imperialis was blooming
on some old and some new stalks.
I'll try not to be shy anymore.
