Nan,
The green-leafed and variegated forms of Duranta erecta and D. stenostachya
have survived to 24 degrees F. in the Pasadena area. They usually defoliate
or at least frost-burn at about 30 degrees F. However foliage of the dwarf
gold-leafed form turns purple or black in the 40s if the plant is in sun and
just defoliates if it is in shade. I also have lost this plant at about 29
degrees.
