Deborah,
We break ground sometime in the spring. The slopes are west facing with
Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) and a few Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga
menziesii), east facing with Bay Tree (Umbellularia californica), Redwood
(Sequoia sempervirens, Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), Coast Live
Oak (Quercus agrifolia) and the southfacing slope (which seems like west
but is really south) which looks right out into Monterey Bay with Coast
Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) and several exotics including Eucalyptus
ficifolia and dying Monterey Pine (which is not native here). There may
be some other tree species further down slope on the west/east sides but
I have not investigated them thoroughly yet. We are proposing to reserve
our slopes for natives and the flatlands for plants from around the world.
I hope this helps.
