I think we all have "Ernie-envy!"

That said, I want to put in my vote for a combo I saw recently in Sequoia
-- Cercis occidentalis with yucca whipplei.  It sounds strange but it was
really striking!

There was also a wonderful Arcostaphylos up there, pale green leaves that
were all vertical.  I think it was A. viscida???  White leaf manzanita???

And what about a recreation of a poppy/lupine expanse like those along the
grapevine?
