I don't doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong - but isn't this also
the traditional material for bassoon and oboe reeds, maybe clarinet and sax
as well? Not that it would take that many of them - maybe no more even than
grow very respectably in northeast Kansas USDA z5a (but not the variegated
one, sad to say).
