As someone pointed out in a previous post, it is the change in regimen that
sometimes causes problems with mature oaks. Oaks that have always been
watered don't have the same problems as oaks that have lived most of their
lives on scant water rations. Newly planted oaks thrive on regular water and
grow much faster than oaks that have to depend upon what Mother Nature sends
their way.
