Its native to southern and eastern Tasmania Tim,
also grown in the Canberra, Hobart and Sydney Botanic Gardens
I reckon it'll do just fine in in the UK.
its basionym is Sida discolor
Don't know anything more about it
It doesn't appear in any of the hort books I've got
