I've never been there, but the March issue of Horticulture magazine
features a page on the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 No. Galvin Parkway,
Phoenix AZ 85008; 480/941-1225. Open daily except Christmas, 8 a.m. to
8 p.m., October through April. If you start there surely you'll find
people to ask about other gardens in the area. This garden features
cacti, succulents and native flora of the southwestern U.S. Enjoy!

I know Phoenix Arizona is not exactly Mediterranean but you are the most
knowledgeable group of plant people I know. Would you recommend any
