I've never been there, but the March issue of Horticulture magazine
features a page on the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 No. Galvin Parkway,
Phoenix AZ 85008; 480/941-1225. Open daily except Christmas, 8 a.m. to
8 p.m., October through April.
I went there Feb 1998. It's great. You should definately go! They have
free tours and they're worth it. They give you a lot of good info. And
they have self-guided tours which are good (do them after the regular
tour). For those people this matters to: the paths are pretty much all
wheelchair accessable and not too steep. And the docent made our tour
non-smoking upon my request. They sell some plants and seeds there too.
