Re: Phoenix, Arizona gardens/nurseries

Hello, Sunia,

I second the recommendation for a trip (car necessary) to Boyce arboretum -
but a good hour outside of Phoenix. But Organ Pipe (spectacular - and large )
is a good 4 hours+ from Phoenix. (On the Mexican border) A good overnight
trip.

Also, however, call the wildflower hotline (locally advertised - usually in
the Sunday paper (and the Desert Bot.Garden would certainly know the number)
and find out what areas are blooming (although you may be a bit early in the
season).

There is also an Arizona Native Plant Society and a Nature Conservacy chapter,
both of which organize field trips(both have websites). If you are lucky
there may be something at the same time you are there.
