Phoenix, Arizona gardens/nurseries

Folks,

Thank you for all your suggestions for places in Phoenix.

I did go to the Desert Botanical Garden. It is really a wonderful place,
full of birds. The cactus wrens were loudly calling from tops of saguaro.
Some splendid Boojum Trees (Fouquieria columnaris). Lots of natives
(Saguaro, Cercidium), agaves, aloes, and cactus, of course. The layout of
winding paths gives one a feeling of visual privacy (the voices of excited
schoolchildren are everywhere). The enthusiasm of the volunteers is
particularly noteworthy.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to leave Phoenix. Next time!
