Sottini, what about species fuschia. I have a fuschia regia in a tall pot, that
flowers all summer, it grows tall, but it also cascades over.
Also, I got 2 Prostanthera rotundifolia from the Univ.Calif.Santa Cruz arboretum
last spring that I have fallen in love with. They are compact bushes with small
purple flowers, and the foliage has a lovely minty smell and is so pretty I cut it
to put with flowers in the house, and I am thinking these might complement
rhodies also (so far all our rain hasn't killed them, in fact they are already about 3
feet tall, although they are drier loving plants, I think) I think it is a good idea
what you are doing, privacy by plants is so cosy...
Good luck, let us know how it turns out
