Hi Margaret.
You really ought to give your thanks to Cornell University which
invented this simple kitchen remedy and allowed it to be published in
Organic Gardening.

I don't know if you folks can get the light summer spraying oils thay
have in the States. We don't have them here, alas, but another American
institution (Cotton research Lab) some yeas ago put out a formula for a
light home spraying oil using cooking oil.

Stock solution
To each 15ml water add
1 Tablespoon ( 15mls) cooking oil (cheapest horrible supermarket stuff
is fine)
1 " Washing-up liquid.

Put in a screwtop jar and shake well before use.

To spray dilute at the rate of 1-2 teaspoons per 150mls water. Spray
both sides of leaves to runoff. (As with all spraying of growing plants,
for safety try first on just a leaf or two)

Moira

God wherever a summer oil spray is called for.
