Take heed of John's warning on this plant seeding itself around in the garden, it is incredibly vigorous in a watered garden situation.
Also, as far as I remember, the flowers are indeed purplish as the photo shows, not blue. Maybe some other Aristea? Since there seems to be a consensus on the genus, I'll do some more searches.
