I have developed the following system which works very well for me. I store seeds in coin envelopes, which are quite small. To organize the coin envelopes, I used Cancelled Check File Folders. I get these at Staples -- they are alphabetized A-Z. To see an example of what I mean, go to:
http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/Sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=194688
Or go to www.staples.com and do a search for Check File.
These hold lots and lots of alphabitized seed coin envelopes, in very little space. I usually have several going. One for seed I plan to sow right away, one for seed that gets stratified, one for seed exchanges, etc. Those that are being stored go into a tupperware "bread box" that goes into the refridgerator. I place packets of silicone or dessicant in that one.
Works well for me, and I store and collect a LOT of seed.
