Today i was out riding the bike. I always pass by this elementary school
thats surrounded byt many acacia trees ( many that grew on their own) a few
ceanothus, a scraggly manzanita and strangest of all.....a small group of
tule or cattail ( are they the same) it isnt flowering, and some willow
saplings! When i went up close to investigate i noticed it had the smell of a
pond area, and a continuous flow of water was seepig up out of the reed
area.i scratched the dirt and sure enough, water kept coming up. now along
the edge of this wet spot there was an ant nest. right along the edge. My
question is, since its on a sandy hillside, what could be happening? could it
be on the border of a small aquifer? all the houses below the hill have bone
dry yards. what could possibly have happened here?
