Just my .02 worth on hardy Cistus...
Maybe Cistus albanicus is one of the hardiest species, judging by its
natural habitat. It is a white-flowered species endemic to the serpentine
mountains of NW Greece and Albania (Balkan peninsula, E. Mediterranean
basin), and grows in conifer woods between 1000 and 1500 m altitude.
