Re: Seed Exchange Scheme

Hello.

Oh yes, the crushed seed theme. Those of you who are smugglers need not
write "seeds" on the envelope <G>, but I have some terrible stories, the
latest being the tragedy of a precious Lamiaceae aff. Molucella being
mercilessly pounded by the Canadian post office in spite of formidable
thick bubble padding enclosed, along with other items.

Why Any PO worker wants to machine thick, light envelopes that might
contain something important is beyond me, but "Hand-Cancel" "Do Not
Crush" and "Non-Machinable" are favorite expressions and should be well
known to anyone mailing seeds to anyone anywhere.

Admittedly, they don't always work, and looking at crush proof
casette-tape mailers may not be a bad idea. or making the package Not
look like it's just a letter may deserve consideration also. I haven't
ever had this trouble with larger packages from seed companies.
