Better yet if it's an object you actually have something to say about
- or about which you actually have something to say, as they say - even if
you end up appropriating the story that goes with it from the real owner.
But downplaying it as Barry suggests does minimize the chance that by that
evening even the few will remember your garden only as "that place where we
saw the [object]."
