January Meeting for Golden Gate Chapter -- Scion (and plant) Exchange
All are welcome! (you don't have to be or become a member)

11:30 am - 2:00 pm
$1 donation requested at the door
This is a great event! Get all sorts of fruiting plants for next to
nothing. Learn about unusual fruits. The exchange happens once a year and
each chapter has one about this time of year. This is the one for the
Golden Gate chapter that covers San Francisco and the East Bay. There are
others in the North Bay, South Bay, Santa Cruz, etc.

Time: 9:30 - 10:30 am Set up the exchange.
10:30 - 11:30 am Exchange open to the volunteers (people who helped
collect prepare the scions, set up the exchange, or will do clean up after
the exchange)
11:30 - 2:00 EXCHANGE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
12:00 - 12:45 Grafting demonstration (Paul Popenoe and Idell Wedemeyer)
1:00 Plant raffle (see article for details)
2:00-3:00 PM Cleanup.

You don't have to bring anything but if you do, bring the following:
Bring: (1) Scions, cuttings, divisions, tubers, plants, or seeds of
unusual fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, and herbs.
(2) Unusual fruit or vegetable-related edibles to share - such as fresh or
dried fruit, jams, cookies, pickles, etc.
(3) Seed and garden-supply catalogs, tools, and other gardening-related
items you don't need anymore but someone else would enjoy.
(4) Plants for the plant raffle (edible only).
(5) Empty plastic sacks, masking tape or labels, and a waterproof pen (or
pencil) -- to bag and label the things you want to take home from the
exchange.
