You can drill holes in ceramic pots with either a bit for concrete or a bit
for ceramic. The ceramic bit is flat and spade-shaped. I have found it
easiest to start with a small (1/8") concrete bit, then use the ceramic bit.
It is also good to have a trickle of water running on the hole to keep the
bit from getting too hot. Any drill will do, though a drill press at slow
speed is probably best. I have always used a hand drill and haven't cracked
a pot yet. Good luck!
