My sincere thanks to those who responded to my plea for help in getting my
mind right for opening my family's garden to the public. Both the practical
advice and the reminders to just relax and connect with fellow gardeners
were really nice.
I realized we have several big assets going--first, it's a country garden so
it's supposed to be shaggy; the surrounding oak woodland provides lovely
"borrowed" garden background; my husband is a GIS/GPS freak so our property
is thoroughly mapped with digitized layers for hardscaping, water lines,
etc; I made up species lists years ago for the garden and the wild part of
the property, so with some minor update those will be available for the
hardcore visitors (and to assist my memory).
I'll have to work on the found art objects. We have a lot of benches in
various places but most are listing dangerously; I suppose it wouldn't do to
have visitors be the ones to fall over. And the potting area definitely
looks like a garbage heap.
Thanks again for your kind comments.
