Dear Medit - Planters,
First of all I wish to thank you for all the interesting posts
and threads I find in this list, and for the wonderful way in
which the discussion are conducted here. I'm really learning a lot
about mediterranean gardening and interpersonal relation.
Even if I haven't the proper technical acknowledge to take part
actively, I'd like to ask your advice on a matter I hope will be quiet
in topic.
I'm preparing my cousin's terrace on his penthouse and he would
like to set in pot some climbers, among which a plant of Vitis vinifera
to create a wide shaded zone. I would like to please him, even if I've
never actually seen such a plant (which thrives in our region by the
way)in pot.
My question is, which should be the least dimension of the final pot,
not considering of course a period of previous intermediate repotting,so
that I can inform since now 'my client' about the obstruction on long
periods and discuss with him the opportunity of having such a container
on the terrace.
Beyond this, roughly, how long is the life span of such a plant in these
conditions? Any other suggestion about planting vines in big pots will
be also very appreciated.
Greetings,
