Re: Greatbook on Modernism/American Landscape Architects

Hello fellow medit-plants people,

I thought I would also share another book that is not
new but gives an excellent overview of American
landscape design and history over the past century.
The authors are Peter Walker and Melanie Simo, and the
book is titled Invisible Gardens, the Search for
Modernism in the American Landscape, published in 1994
by MIT Press, ISBN (paperback) 0-262-73116-9. If you
are interested in philosophical discussions on design
from the landscape architect's viewpoint, you will
probably enjoy the book. I have not been able to put
it down since I opened it, and it has even given me
more perspective on some of the name landscape
architects/firms that I have worked for in the past.
I wish I had known as much when I was still working there...
