Anne,

Don't know where you live, but we're east of San Francisco, and we've found
that if we don't get them in before Thanksgiving week, they go in in January,
and they come up just the same. We only plant Darwin hybrid tulips unless
we're willing to let them go after one year (the Dhs may or may not go for a
few years), and we've had great luck with Ice Follies daffodils, even though
we water all summer.
