Are there any weeping forms of

that do well in the central valley of California? Haven't you heard? Central California valley folk can grow anything, dahling. I'm not sure of your exact location(the valley is several hundred miles long), but any local nurseryman - including the big boxes like Home Depot, OSH, and Lumberjack should be able to provide you with a weeping cherry. Some of the better nurseries will have crabs of more than one color; the plums I have not seen. One note on the cherries: give them sun and amend your soil if needed to insure good drainage, as they are prone to rot especially when you're trying to get them going. If you are in the countryside, watch for gophers. I have had several small cherries chewed right off at the roots! Good Luck! |
