Dear Ellen,
A nursery very close to me actually produces Leucadendron and I would
suggest planting in prepared soil as the same mix used for their
propagation.
The nursery use a mix of decomposed granite, clay loam and composted bark.
Leucadendron need a very free draining poor soil type that is on the acidic
side. They must not be fed with any Phosphates as this can cause damage to
the the fine roots.
