For a different rockery plant, try these Salvias: henryi and davidsonii
grow amongst rocks in Arizona and New Mexico, and chionophylla has a
Potentilla-like habit, rooting where it can find moisture and some
fertility, then forming a tuft of thyme-like growth with gray leaves and
terminal spikes of blue-lavender flowers. The first two have red tubular
flowers. These have been available from Southwest Native Seeds.
