RE: African basil - frost protection

you can fill milk jugs full of hot water and place them at the base of the plant to help them make it through a frost night. This would be for plants in the ground that can't be moved.
Someone I know strings Christmas tree lights around his lemon trees. If it gets cold, he turns them on.
