Medit??plants

May I have a last word as the stupid old codger who stirred up this pot.
Surely the key is the climate. A Mediterranean plant is, strictly speaking
I suppose, one indigenous to the area, but to gardeners it is one that can
resist a long hot summer without rain or clouds and a winter with only
light frosts. So are we not really talking about plants that will accept a
Mediterranean climate.
Being gardeners and not ecologists we must also allow, no doubt, moderate
watering during summer which greatly expands the range we are discussing.
In fact, given enough summer water, which is in very short supply in much
of the area due to turism, there are thousands and thousands of plants that
come into the range. This makes some definition helpful.
		Sean's seems ideal to me!
