Re: Kikiyu grass

As long as you can get at ALL the roots, it is relatively easy to dig out.
The runners are mostly near the surface, big and easy to see, and tend to
hold together as you extract them (as opposed to Bermuda grass, whose tiny
runners go deeper and break more easily). I have striped Kikiyu both from
an entire front lawn and the better part of a vacant lot. I simply pried
off the top sod layer, let the remenants regrow for a few months, dug out
the individual remaining runners, and waited for the last few bits to show
themselves and be removed.

The only real problem the runners that went under the public sidewalk (so
they sould not be pulled out). Those required careful application or
roundup over many months to finally kill the plant.
