Dormant oil spray??/

Excuse the SLIGHTLY off topic question, but it's time to spray our
deciduous fruit trees and I am always confused about the difference between
dormant oil spray and copper spray.  Which is the best to use?  What makes
it better?  which is more in line with using non-synthetic pesticides in
the garden?
