wilting after a freeze

Nice of Paul to bring up the subject, as I was just wondering about it!
Many of my tender lavenders, who appeared to come through the ten-degree
weather we had in December unscathed or at least only mildly frostbitten,
have subsequently gone through a very slow decline. It starts with wilting
at the tips, progresses to a complete wilt while still green, then a
brown-off. One L. stoechas is only just now starting to wilt, over a month
after the freeze. Is there anything I can do about this? The situation is
starting to look somewhat ominous in the tender-lavender bed.
