Re: san francisco & monterey

To Veronica Mary Borrett et al,

In San Francisco, in Golden Gate Park, is Strybing Arboretum, a wonderful garden which has only a small California section but is well worth a visit for the rest of the garden. Across the bay is the Botanical garden at University of California at
Berkeley which has an excellent native California garden and 30+ acres of plants from all over the world.
Nearby in Tilden park there is another fine native California garden.
Perhaps someone else can give ideas for the Monterey area.

Jacarandas Grow well here in Oakland,CA where our summers are mostly in the
70's F or low 20's C. We generally have only a little frost in the winter but do have occasional freezes which don't do serious damage as long as the trees are a few years old. Don't know if that helps.
