Joe, that is a hard one. I am near Mendocino so it is a
little cooler that where you are. But to choose the best is
very hard. Do you like tall, bushy, elegant, wild, rosette
forming, pink, purple, blue, red, coral, orange, yellow,
etc. My personal favorites are: Mexicana 'Limelight',
involucrata, any of the guananiticas, patens, canariensis
and for very nice foliage, any of the officinalis. I have a
lot of cuttings from others and some new plants from the
Cabrillo Plant sale that haven't bloomed for me yet so my
favorites may soon change. If you are really interested in
Salvia join the Salvia@yahoogroups.com. This group is
composed of self described 'salvia nuts' and you will get a
great deal of differing opinions as to the 'best' salvia.
