Here in Californias Central coast it has been quite pleasant (At least the
southern edge of Monterey Bay. Its been warm, but not overly warm. Plants
that like warmth but not heat are doing well. Unfortunately my tomatoes
are still quite small. While the rest of the nation was baking in triple
digit temperatures, we had pleasant temperatures in the mid 70's. I had
to cut back my California Poppies because the stems were getting too long
and barely had any leaves left on them. The flowers were also steadily
getting smaller and smaller (they were down to under an inch in diameter
when i cut the plants back. Unfortunately that evil spotted spurge is
popping up in my yard! It hasnt flowere yet, so i think im going to weed
those out tomorrow.Today i just finished reconstructing the bridge that
crosses our dry stream. Fortunately, i found all the lumber i needed at my
home and in my grandfathers old wood stockpile in his garage.
