On the home page, perhaps more about Gary should be said — but maybe
not. New members to the list might need some explanation of who and why.
Can you use a photo of Gary from Internet press?

I like the "favorite plant" idea because it might get us to evaluate and
appreciate certain plants in a new way, perhaps prompted by Gary's
death. The addition of the hummingbird is a nice surprise. A garden is
more than plants. When something or someone dies, you sometimes find new
appreciation for that thing or person. Thinking about my favorite plant
species, cultivar, etc, came become a useful exercise in personal
reflection.

Also, it might be helpful to again detail (on the home page) how
Medit-Plant folks can submit photos.
