how long does a magnolia bloom last?

Someone asked me how long she should expect her dwarf magnolia
flowers to last. Evidently, each bloom lasts a single day and she is
under the impression that blooms should last longer than a day each.
I have never grown these beauties so I don't know. What do you all
advise?
