I have an enormous Dalea in my garden, I am not sure which Dalea it
is but it is about 4' tall and 8' across and nearly always in bloom
with deep purple and white flowers. Leaves sometimes have red mottle
appearance. It lives in an area with excellent drainage, full sun
and almost no water. I am about 3 miles from teh coast, along the
estuary so that I get ocean influence but hot summer afternoons.

I agree with David that htis plant deserves far more attention than
it gets, especially for dry areas.
